Lake County Courthouse Project Dirty Jobs Fireproofing New Court Tower
Lake County Courthouse Project Launch Ceremony
Lake County officials, stakeholders, and representatives of the justice system gathered on November 21 to celebrate the launch of the Courthouse Expansion Project. The project includes a new 8-story, approximately 200,000 sq. ft. court tower with 18 new courtrooms, jury assembly space, and the construction of a tunnel connecting the jail and current courthouse. The project will increase the efficiency of the justice system and support growth of the justice agencies for many years to come. Lake County partnered with a Waukegan artist to create a symbolic piece of temporary art that exemplifies Justice. Local leaders were asked to share what Justice means to them, and their words were incorporated into the piece of art that was unveiled at the ceremony
